Have you ever had a great idea come to you — seemingly out of the blue — only to find that that million-dollar idea has vanished into thin air mere seconds later? Let's make sure that never happens again!

If you're a video person, I lay it all out in the video below. If reading is more your thing, skip the video and hop straight to the transcript below!

Hey there, Bill Stainton here with Turning Creativity into Money™, and I've got surprising news for you today.

It turns out that innovation does not punch a time clock.

It's true!

Innovation, creativity—they don't just work from nine to five. They don't punch a time clock. They can happen at any time.

And you know this is true.

You know, they happen in the shower, they happen late at night, these creative ideas. You never know when they're gonna happen. You can't assume they're going to happen from nine to five, and so you've got to be ready for them.

That's the key, you've got to be ready for them.

If you want to make use of innovative ideas, creative ideas, the multi-million dollar ideas that are going to make you rich by Thursday, you've got to have some way to record them when they come to you.

Fortunately, that's pretty easy to do.

You can carry a notebook like this. You probably have a cell phone. You know, it turns out that these things—most of them have recording apps!

So you, you should never be at a loss for a way to record your ideas. You don't want to be in that situation—and I know it's happened to you, it certainly has happened to me—where you come up with a great idea—again the multi-million idea, multi-million dollar idea, the one that's going to make you rich by Thursday—you come up with that idea, and then the phone rings, or something happens, something happens, it distracts you—you see a squirrel, a cow goes moo, something happens. And then you come back and think, "Okay, now what was that idea? What was that? It was a great idea, it was the best idea ever," and it's gone.

You've had that experience, haven't you?

Well, that's why you need to be prepared. Because those ideas can come at any time. Innovation does not punch a time clock. So be ready for them. Have a notebook by your bed, have a recording device, have some way to capture those ideas when they come to you, and you're never going to miss another million dollar idea.

I'm Bill Stainton. I'll be with you next time with more ideas of how you can Turn Creativity into Money™.
